Citizens Advice Telford and the Wrekin (CATW) is a charity providing free, confidential, impartial and independent advice to the local community. CATW provide information and advice on individuals’ rights and responsibilities, empowering people to resolve their issues and supporting those who need greater help, especially the most vulnerable. Telford has some 20 neighbourhoods which are in the most deprived ten percent nationally.  In ten wards, more than 25 percent of children live in poverty.  There is significant health deprivation with 28 percent of people identifying as disabled or having long-term health problems.  In five wards, fuel poverty affects nearly one in five households.  To support this need CATW services are delivered by a small staff team and some 75 volunteers who help in many roles including as advisers, reception staff and on the telephones.
